"Supreme Predator": A young actor who starred in a Netflix series was sentenced to 15 years in prison for 26 sexual crimes

The Sex Education series was a huge success on Netflix , with a loyal audience that awaited each of the installments, and a theme that was applauded for the creative way it addressed teenage sexuality .

Throughout the four seasons, the cast of actors was renewed, with a base cast and other secondary stories that were intertwined with the main plot.

Alexander Westwood appeared in 17 episodes of the series, and then continued his career to stardom in other creations on the streaming platform. The name of the 24-year-old actor was once again in headlines around the world, but this time for his gruesome record as a sexual abuser .

Westwood was sentenced to 15 years in prison after being found guilty of 26 sexual offences , the British newspaper Daily Mail reports.

Prosecutor Andrew Wallace KC described him as a "sexual predator" and "supreme manipulator" and said he could have been charged with 77 serious sexual assaults but reduced the number to 26 to facilitate sentencing.

“If we were to list all the cases, there would be hundreds of charges,” the prosecutor said. He added: “He used his stardom to take advantage of his victims out of habit. When fame called, he met two 16-year-old girls and used his privileged position to abuse them.”

The actor's assaults are believed to have begun when he was just ten years old, and two of the victims were children to whom he was giving acting classes.

Among the crimes he is accused of is the case of one of his students, whom he sexually assaulted for eight years. The court held that Westwood has a “fascination with pornography from a very early age,” and revealed that he “forced a girl to drink his urine” as part of the abuse.

At the trial, as the victims stood in the witness box holding hands, Judge Neil Chawla spoke directly to the defendant: “You used your celebrity status to prey on impressionable, innocent and naive young girls .”

"The jury rejected your denials and rejected your story of victim-blaming, and found that you were a serial predator , and that sexual offenses became part of your lifestyle," the judge continued.

"I had long thought of bail as an act of mercy towards his parents, but last week he was found in a hotel in clear violation of the terms of his bail so mercifully granted by this court," Chawla said.

He also spoke to him about his lack of remorse, which was another reason for his increased sentence. "I must sentence you for a large number of sexual offences committed over just a decade of your life, for which you have shown no remorse and remain a danger to the public ," he said.

He was also convicted of “inciting another minor under the age of ten to participate in sexual activities.” Among the allegations, it was revealed that a teenager was raped behind the scenes of the Bridgerton series, while another student was convinced to strip naked for a Greek mythology scene.
